Season two of Russian Doll will premiere on Netflix April 20. The Cleaning Lady will be returning for a second season on Fox. The renewal comes after a solid performance in the ratings where it premiered at midseason. The series follows a whip-smart Cambodian doctor, who comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son. With her son diagnosed with a life-threatening immunodeficiency disorder and her husband struggling with a gambling addiction and unable to get a visa, Thony is left to save the boy on her own. She ends up working as a cleaning lady for a powerful crime syndicate, crossing into a world of moral greys. Thony begins to live a double life, keeping secrets from her family, while cleaning crime scenes and dodging the law, including a smooth-talking FBI Agent who is in pursuit.

HBO has renewed Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty for a second season. Based on the book “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s” by Jeff Pearlman, the fast-break series chronicles the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers, one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties – a team that defined an era, both on and off the court. The ten episode first season will conclude on May 8. 

Maya Erskine is replacing Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith reboot series. Erskine will star alongside Donald Glover.

Lupin the 3rd Part 6 will premiere on adult swim’s Toonami block April 16 at 1:30 AM. The series replaces Made in Abyss which will be airing its one hour season finale April 9 at 1:30 AM. 

Netflix special Oprah + Viola: A Netflix Special Event will premiere April 22. Oprah Winfrey and Viola Davis discuss her astonishing new memoir, “Finding Me”. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns for season twelve May 11. Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung Minkoff  will return to the Bravo series. Diana Jenkins joins the season as a housewife and Sheree Zampino will appear as a new friend along with returning friend Kathy Hilton. 

Prime Video’s Anansi Boys has added Whoopi Goldberg to the cast as the Menacing Bird Woman. Also joining the cast are Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Emmanuel Ighodaro, Cecilia Noble, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, and Don Gilet. The series follows a young man who is used to being embarrassed by his estranged father. When his father dies, Charlie discovers that he was Anansi: Trickster God of stories, and he learns that he has a brother. Now that brother is entering Charlie’s life, determined to make it more interesting – but making it a lot more dangerous instead. 

Tom Hiddleston will star in Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series The White Darkness. The series is based on the book by David Grann. The series tells the story of Henry Worsley, a devoted husband and father, a former soldier, a man of deep honor and sacrifice, but also a man deeply obsessed with adventure and his attempt to journey across Antarctica. 

Peacock has ordered an adaptation of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning, the book by Margareta Magnusson. The series features people who are at a major crossroads and need to get their houses and lives in order. A Swedish “Death Cleaner” will help organize and demystify homes, lives, and relationships, allowing us to prepare for death while we enjoy life.

Apple TV+ has ordered a six episode limited series titled The Big Cigar. The series chronicles the true story of Black Panther leader Huey P. Newton’s escape to Cuba andhow Newton relied on his best friend, Bert Schneider, the Hollywood producer behind “Easy Rider,” to elude a nationwide manhunt while being pursued into exile by the FBI. André Holland is in discussions to star. 

Carla Woodcock and Callum Kerr have been cast in hulu’s History Of A Pleasure Seeker pilot. The musical drama is based on the book by Richard Mason. The series is set in 1907 Amsterdam. 

Spencer Boldman will recur in hulu’s upcoming limited series Immigrant. The Chippendales series stars Kumail Nanjiani, Murray Bartlett, Annaleigh Ashford and Juliette Lewis. 

Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout returns for a new season May 17. Alex Guarnaschelli hosts the series where chefs persuade unsuspecting customers to sell their groceries as they attempt to turn the ingredients into themed culinary delights in an outdoor cooking battle. A rotating panel of judges ultimately determines which competitor made the most successful menu over three rounds and is awarded a year’s worth of groceries. Supermarket Stakeout: What Would Alex Make? where Alex Guarnaschelli takes on some of the toughest carts from prior seasons returns May 31. 

Rachel Maddow is set to return to her MSNBC series April 11. The Rachel Maddow Show host took a break in February from her main on air duties to focus on other projects. Since her break, she has appeared during major news events such as the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 

HGTV has ordered Christina in the Country starring Christina Hall, star of Christina on the Coast and Flip or Flop. The six episode series follows Christina on her bold next chapter as she expands her design business across the country and puts down roots at her second home – a Tennessee farm. Now, Christina, who always lived an active, outdoor lifestyle in Southern California, will create even more life-long memories with her three children and husband Josh Hall in Tennessee. It will premiere in late 2022. 

Jason Aldean + Bryan Adams, Jimmie Allen + Monica + Little Big Town, Walker Hayes, and Thomas Rhett + Riley Green have all been announced as performers for the upcoming 2022 CMT Music Awards. Additionally, Jimmie Allen, Gabby Barrett, Rob Corddry, Jordan Davis, Billy F. Gibbons, Gayle King, Taylor Lautner, Dustin Lynch, Martina McBride, Joel McHale, Kacey Musgraves, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France + Antoni Porowski, LeAnn Rimes, Dylan Scott and Dennis Quaid have all been announced as presenters. The ceremony will air live on CBS April 11.

A new season of The Wonder List with Bill Weir will premiere on CNN+ April 21. The four episode season follows CNN’s chief climate correspondent Bill Weir where he will uncover how modernization, warming climates, and tourism affect Earth’s natural wonders – and the extraordinary actions of individuals trying to save them. The fourth season will see Weir travel to Montana, Greenland, Charleston, and Hawaii. 

Season five of The Great Pottery Throw Down will premiere on HBO Max April 14. The ten episode season is hosted by Ellie Taylor and sees twelve of Britain’s best home potters compete to become champion ‘of the pottery’. Judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller will put the potters through their paces.

Docuseries Not So Pretty will premiere on HBO Max April 14. Narrated by Keke Palmer, the four episode series is a comprehensive large-scale investigative expose of the trillion-dollar cosmetics, beauty and personal care industry.
