Years on from his role as a school pupil in the county, Benedict is best recognised as one of Britain’s most successful actors to date and has gained himself a huge net worth.
This is thanks to his dedication to his performance on stage and screen.
According to CelebrityNetWorth, the talented star has a net worth of approximately $40 million.
This is the equivalent to more than £30 million.
The star is now a Leading Actor BAFTA nominee and an Oscar nominee, for his role in Netflix’s Power of the Dog.
The film follows a ‘domineering rancher [who] responds with mocking cruelty when his brother brings home a new wife and her son, until the unexpected comes to pass.’
He could potentially expect an Oscar win for the role at the ceremony on Monday (March 28).
The 2022 nominee isn’t Benedict’s only nomination or award win to date. He has a long list of accolades.
The list of award wins includes a Primetime Emmy Award, a British Academy Television Award and a Laurence Olivier Award.
In 2019 the actor, who once appeared in TV show Heartbeat, won several awards for his role in the drama mini-series, Patrick Melrose.

The role followed Benedict’s character Patrick, a troubled Englishman, who became a victim of substance abuse.
His other creditable roles on-screen include Sherlock Holmes, The Imitation Game, The Grinch, The Courier, 1917, and The Hobbit, just to name a few.
However, Marvel fans will know Benedict best as Doctor Strange, formerly known as famous neurosurgeon, Stephen Strange.
He will star in the upcoming and much-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6.
The upcoming movie is rumoured to star Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise, as well as many other Hollywood stars.
The 75th BAFTAs will be hosted by American actress Rebel Wilson.
The awards show will be broadcast on BBC One on Sunday (March, 13) at 7:00pm.
