Come out for two days of sand and surf during the Sea.Hear.Now festival, featuring more than 25 performances on three stages along the Asbury Park waterfront. Headliners are Stevie Nicks and Green Day, so it’s the perfect chance to see your favorite megastars close to home! Get your tickets now, as some price levels have already sold out for this uber-popular concert extravaganza!
Since the festival is family-friendly, it will be amazing for the parents in the crowd to introduce their young ones to the incomparable Stevie Nicks, Saturday night’s headliner on Sept. 17. Other performers include My Morning Jacket, Billy Strings, Gary Clark Jr., Fletcher, The Backseat Lovers, Peach Pit, Skip Marley, Celisse, Djo, Aly & AJ, The Sufrajettes, Dogs in a Pile and Dentist.
The Sunday, Sept. 18, headliner is Green Day. Other performers include Cage the Elephant, The Head and the Heart, Idles, Courtney Barnett, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Tai Verdes, Shakey Graves, Andy Frasco & The UN, CimaFunk, The Little Mermen, Calder Allen, Lost in Society and The Vansaders.
In between sets, fans can watch the North Beach Rumble, a team surf contest featuring the top male and female professional surfers from the East Coast doing battle between the Surf and Sand stages!
You can also go beyond the beach and visit Danny Clinch’s Transparent Gallery, which will be filled with immersive art experiences.
When it’s time for a break, head to one of the many boardwalk restaurants located throughout the festival grounds. Some of our favorites include Robinson’s Ale House for pub fare, Pop’s Garage for Mexican, Cousins Maine Lobster for famous food-truck-meets-storefront and undoubtedly Coney Waffle for dessert.
You may leave and re-enter the festival, but you will have to go through security checks each time. No re-entries will be permitted after 7 pm.
Sea.Hear.Now started in 2018 in Asbury Park as a way to promote live music, art, surfing culture and ocean sustainability efforts. It will be held again this year along the Asbury Park waterfront Sept. 17-18. Kids under 7 are admitted free with a paying adult. General admission tickets start at $215 for the two-day event (single day tickets are not offered), and go through levels such as General Admission+, VIP, Platinum and the Ultimate Experience (at a whopping $8,750 for a three-day incredible experience, you can add yourself to the waitlist since it’s sold out). Some of the packages include hotel stays if it’s too far to drive back and forth for both days. There is car and bicycle parking, but it may be best to call a rideshare and get dropped off at 115 4th Ave.
There is no local requirement to provide a negative COVID-19 test result, vaccine card or vaccine record for entry at this event. If you are unvaccinated, the CDC encourages you to bring and wear a mask.
