Two decades ago, the cast members of Friends were some of the biggest stars in the world, starring in what’s now one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. But a whole lot has changed since then, and while actors Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, for example, have gone on to only become more successful, others haven’t been as lucky.
Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani, took a break from acting after his Friends spin-off show Joey was cancelled, revealing that he felt “burnt out” and didn’t want to even leave the house. As for Matthew Perry, who portrayed Chandler Bing on Friends, he’s been open about the ups and downs in his life which include substance abuse. He went on to snag a few fun parts after the NBC comedy series ended in 2004, but in recent years we haven’t seen him on our screens in an acting role.

With the exception of Friends: The Reunion — which saw Perry reunite with his Friends co-stars for an unscripted special — the 52-year-old celeb hasn’t appeared on TV since 2017 with his roles as Ted Kennedy in The Kennedys After Camelot, Mike Kresteva in The Good Fight, and Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple. Perry filmed a cameo for the 2021 Netflix movie Don’t Look Up, but it didn’t make the final cut.
Because of this, it might surprise fans to know that Perry is still living large with a seriously impressive net worth!
Matthew Perry net worth
According to CelebrityNetWorth, the 17 Again star has a net worth of approximately $120 million! The site reports that along with his salary for Friends and other movies and shows he’s acted in over the years, he also receives royalties for the long-running sitcom. It’s been alleged that each main cast member of Friends could take home $10-$20 million in a year from royalties. Of course, this has not been confirmed by the stars or by NBC, so we’ll take it with a grain of salt.
After Friends: The Reunion premiered on HBO in 2021, reports came out that each main cast member, including Perry, was paid an estimated $2.5 million to appear. That’s a pretty major chunk of change.
Friends fans are hoping we’ll get to see Matthew Perry on our screens once more in a new role, but we’ll have to wait and see if or when that happens.
