Katherine Schwarzenegger, the first child of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was born into a family that had a history of fame and a pedigree. She does not, however, dismiss the inescapable comparisons of coming from one of the powerful political dynasties. In a 2017 interview, the former governor’s daughter shared about her iconic relative and the epitome of style and grace, Jacqueline Kennedy, the former first lady.

Schwarzenegger’s ex-wife Maria Shriver’s mother was former President John F. Kennedy’s sister Eunice. Speaking about her great aunt Jackie, Katherine shared the impact she made on her family and the other first ladies as a stylish persona. Also, she revealed how her parents, Schwarzenegger and Shriver, helped her deal with it.

Comparisons are inevitable, but Schwarzenegger’s daughter embraced the idea of finding her personal style. And she owes it to her parents. She mentioned the different fashion icons in her family when talking about her Kennedy ancestry. “I think my mom is as well,” she added. Jackie passed away in 1994, yet her sense of style serves as a benchmark.
Prominent people such as Kate Middleton and former First Lady Melania Trump were compared to her style icon great-aunt. Also, she continued, “I think that happens with everybody in our family at some point!” Moreover, Katherine said everybody is compared to somebody. “It is very normal.”

Furthermore, as for her fashion sense, Schwarzenegger’s firstborn said “very California, feminine, a little sexy, but comfortable.” Despite coming from a family with a strong political background with iconic relatives, she was under no pressure to follow any standards.

Katherine shared she grew up watching the elegance and style women in her family embraced. She admitted that sometimes she would look at pictures of the iconic women in her family and try some of their styles. But she highlighted the idea of “embracing your own style.”

Appreciative of her parents’ parenting methods, she said, “..one of the greatest gifts we’ve been given in my family is to really embrace who we are as individuals and to be able to have our own sense of style and our own thing going.”
