Two sessions of Jackson County District Court were held last week at the Justice Center with Judge Monica Leslie presiding.

A session mainly for traffic cases was held March 28, with a session for other cases May 29.

Results of the sessions are listed below, with information obtained from records on file with the Jackson County Clerk of Court office. Defendants pleaded guilty unless indicated otherwise. In addition to dismissals and infractions, dispositions included:

James Derrick Jenkins, 30, Iva Lee Drive, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level two, sentence of not less than nor more than 12 months suspended for 24 months and placed on special supervised probation on condition he serve seven days active time, pay fine of $200 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment and surrender driver’s license, given credit for two days served.

Austin Cheyenne Brantley, 29, Scaly Mountain, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Francis Xavier Simmel, 63, Port Charlotte, Fla., driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Cameron Heath Walker, 33, Hillcrest Street, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Orion Deacon Holmberg, 35, Wolfetown Road, Cherokee, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 24 months and placed on special unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs, obtain substance abuse assessment, surrender driver’s license and perform 24 hours community service.

Terry Jay Webb, 42, Allen Street, Sylva, admitted to a probation violation, sentence of 11 days.

Desmond Jerome Williams, 24, Franklin, disorderly conduct, sentence of 14 days, given credit for 14 days served.

Michael Dean Owle, 55, Spirit Mountain, Sylva, driving while license revoked and injury to personal property, sentence of 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on supervised probation on condition he pay fine of $100 and costs.

Rex Rufus Rogers, 59, Toohow Road, Whittier, driving while license revoked, fined $75 and costs.

Charlene Littlejohn Driver, 44, Mink Branch Road, Cherokee, driving while license revoked, sentence of 45 days suspended for 18 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs.

Damian Cruz Juarez, 33, Myrtle Beach, S.C., driving while license revoked, fined $50 and costs.

Jacob Darren McArthur Ellswick, 20, Trinity, reckless driving, fined $75 and costs.

Christopher James Davey, 25, Franklin, driving while impaired, continued until May 23 for sentencing.

Chelsea Nicole Daly, 26, Searcy Mountain Road, Cullowhee, driving while impaired, continued until June 6 for sentencing.

Peyton Ty Berry, 23, Bryson City, driving while license revoked, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served.

Courtney Daniell Mashburn, 27, Waynesville, larceny, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she make restitution and have no contact with victim.

Christopher Alexander Wynn, 18, Brevard, breaking or entering, sentence of 45 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay fine of $75 and costs, make restitution, perform 15 hours community service and have no contact with victim.

Levi James McCall, 36, Highlands, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and resisting public officer, sentence of 30 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he continue Meridian treatment, given credit for five days served.

Carrie Irene Wildcatt, 30, Fisher Branch Road, Cherokee, possess drug paraphernalia, placed on supervised probation for six months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and continue treatment at Analenisgi.

Taelon Jumper, 20, Sim Taylor Road, Cherokee, possess Schedule II substance, placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months, ordered to pay fine of $50 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment.

Marlene Cecile Osorio, 32, Walnut Cove Road, Tuckasegee, was found guilty of simple assault, prayer for judgment continued for 12 months on condition she pay costs.

Christian Chandler Bonin, 22, Brigadoon Branch Road, Sylva, admitted to two counts of probation violation, on each count probation terminated.

Steven Joseph Smith, 25, Raintree Drive, Whittier, resisting public officer, sentence of two days, given credit for two days served.

Errika Leah Bradley, 44, Rose Lane, Cherokee, larceny, sentence of five days, given credit for five days served.

Jonathan Matthew Jones, 36, Waynesville, resisting public officer, sentence of 30 days to run concurrently with sentence being served.

Jessica Marie Millett, 23, Stardust Motel, U.S. 441 South, Sylva, larceny, sentence of 10 days, given credit for 10 days served, ordered to have no contact with victims.

Ryan Keith Watty, 26, Webster Road, Sylva, assault on a female and larceny, sentence of 75 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition he pay costs and have no contact with larceny victim.

Alyssa Nicole Ann Paiva, 20, Brown Leaf Road, Sylva, cyberstalking, prayer for judgment continued for 12 months on condition she pay costs and have no contact with victim.

Crystal Queen, 45, Indian Mound Road, Cullowhee, animal control ordinance violation, prayer for judgment continued for 12 months on condition she pay costs.

Katherine Josphine Henderson, 57, Knoxville, Tenn., second-degree trespass, fined $30 and costs and ordered to not be on premises of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

Brian Keith Balmonte, 40, Lexington, larceny, continued to June 28 for sentencing.

Peggy Elizabeth Balmonte, 29, Lexington, larceny, continued to June 28 for sentencing.

Joshua Cameron Cope, 29, Bryson City, waived probable cause hearing and was bound over to Superior Court on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, burning personal property and remove political sign violation.

Two cases were heard at a March 11 session manly for minor traffic offenses presided over by Judge Kaleb Wingate.

Anna Nicole Middleton, 39, Shawfield Ridge, Sylva, driving while impaired – level five, sentence of not less than nor more than 60 days suspended for 12 months and placed on unsupervised probation on condition she pay fine of $100 and costs and obtain substance abuse assessment, given credit for inpatient treatment in lieu of community service.

Michael L. Snyder, 46, Morristown, Tenn., waived extradition to Tennessee on a charge of aggravated assault.
