After selling out the almost 4,000-seat Premier Theater at Foxwoods for her show this month, Emmy Award-winning comedian Amy Schumer will bring her latest stand-up tour the 500-seat Ridgefield Playhouse on Sept. 30.

All cellphones will be placed in “Yondr pouches” that will keep phones locked throughout the duration of the performance. Yondr pouches act as a sleeve for phones that limit usage. The pouches can only be unlocked at a Yondr station in the venue. Comedians like Dave Chappelle and John Mulaney have similarly utilized the pouches during recent Connecticut shows.

When Schumer isn’t selling out on her most recent comedy tour, she stars in “Life & Beth,” a Hulu original series that she also directs, produces, and writes. Schumer can also be seen on the new season of the Emmy-nominated Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

In 2019, Schumer and her husband, Chris Fischer, welcomed their son, Gene. Schumer’s difficult pregnancy was documented in the HBO Max special “Expecting Amy.” During the pandemic in 2020, Schumer started in her own Food Network cooking show, “Amy Schumer Learns to Cook,” which featured guest appearances from her son, Gene.

A pre-sale for Ridgefield Playhouse members and Schumer’s fan club will begin Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. Remaining tickets will be available during the public onsale on Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. Tickets start at $195.
